OK, done. Yep, I spent the last 2 hours since the kid went to bed creating the header on a program I've never even used. This is not bragging, this is stupid. Just start the blog, already. SIMPLIFY!!! We've already discussed this.
If you're reading this, you know me already. Unless you've searched for "burnt out moms" and "how to stay sane" on google and randomly came across my chaos. In this case, I'm sorry I have no answers for you...but I feel your pain.
Quick introduction: I am almost 33 years old, I have my first baby (Bailey) who turned 6 months old on Saturday. I am a stay-at-home-mom as long as I can afford it **fingers crossed** but refuse to put my baby in daycare. No judgement on anyone, just not for me. Let me start off by stating a couple facts as to not have to preface anything, just so you know where I'm coming from...
1. There will be topics about poop and boobs. If this offends you, don't read it. This is my life now, I can't censor it.
2. I stand very strongly in my beliefs and will fight for them. I will not EVER pass judgement on to anyone. That's not my job. I am always open for a good debate, but don't get nasty with me. That's just dumb.
My whole point in starting this blog is so I can feel a little bit human again. Ever since Bailey was born, I've felt less like me and more like a totally different person. I know this is normal, but it's a really hard transition. At first, I would write my emotions in my journal and it got to be A LOT! There were days where I felt my pen was ahead of my thoughts, but I could only write while I was nursing. Once her schedule changed, I got so far behind I just stressed out thinking about how much I'm keeping inside and not getting down on paper.
If I feel that I'm doing something that may benefit another person, I'm more apt to do it.
This must be a mom thing.
So if SOMEBODY may learn/laugh/enjoy this blog, then I'm acheiving something. This unselfishness is a new concept for me. It's all a learning process...
**I've just given myself the NEW BLOGGER AWARD***
And I'd like to thank...
Mom...for letting me read her journal she wrote when Katie was born. It inspired me to log all stories, no matter how trivial. Those are the best.
Leah...for appreciating my "style" of mothering, the "non-mom" style who doesn't shop at Kohl's and go to "mommy & me" classes. Eck. You are the one who said I should start a blog about this. I'm just not sure what you want to know about.
Jessica Edge...for getting my antisocial creative typing juices flowing about 5 years ago. Ahhh, our late night random cocktail email sessions STILL make me smile when I read them now.
Raj...for saying that you'll read my blog for my music knowledge alone. That made my day because it reminded me of who "I" am. Yes I'm a mom now, but that doesn't mean I have to stop being ME. To give you even more credit, you changed my perspective of blogging about "mom stuff" to the theme I chose. To not forget MY identity in the midst of it all.
Jessica, Katrina, Kristina...for sending me to blogger/blogspot. It's fun so far!
Matt...I don't even think you'll ever read this. But if you do, thank you for making me popcorn while writing my first LONG post. Love you.
Now I've written for an eternity and I didn't even say anything. This is exactly what I was afraid I'd do. Piss.
